  • Manchester Bridge

The "Manchester" Bridge is a mile-long, multiple-span, steel girder bridge over the James River in Richmond, Virginia. The main spans feature pin and hanger details, and the ramp spans are constructed of horizontally curved girders. The main spans were modeled using BAR 7. Descus was used to model the ramp spans. The rating was done using the load factor method.

  • Mayo Bridge

The "Mayo" Bridge is a mile-long, multiple span, reinforced concrete arch bridge over the James River in Richmond, Virginia. The bridge was modeled using STAAD 3. Influence lines and bending/thrust interaction diagrams were hand-constructed, from which the rating factors were computed. The load factor method was utilized.
