About Us
The DRS Co. was established in June of 2000 by David R. Schmidt, P.E. and incorporated in September of that same year. Mr. Schmidt first envisioned this company in January of 1986, two weeks after graduating from college, and promptly spent the next 14 years gaining the necessary experience and putting things in place. At that time, he knew that one day this vision would become reality and in the summer of 2000, with 14 solid years of experience and a bustling economy, it was time to take the plunge!
After a few weeks of preparation, the shop doors officially opened in July 2000 and we had our first project within a few weeks. To date we have enjoyed steady growth and the future could not look brighter. We have been privileged to have worked for so many great clients on projects ranging from inspection of aerial structures of the Baltimore Metro Subway System, to design of a bridge in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to design of a building in Kent County, Maryland, to inspection and load rating of the Howard County, Maryland bridges, to numerous forensic investigations throughout the states of Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. We have recently won several new and exciting contracts and we look forward to the challenges that they will bring forth as we continue to reach for the stars and realize our dreams!
